When the conditions are just right...

Women who fish

Sometimes, when the conditions are right, all you can do is fish on a school night...

CWS girls went on a spontaneous fishing trip this week with Ms. V and the wonderful Erica Baugh, Program Director for Upstream Alliance and licensed boat captain. It was so exciting to watch Erica share her passion with our students and to get just the girls out there. Erica has played an integral role in getting many other women out on the water with her, she was recently featured in the photographic project, Her Helm and interviewed by Her Chesapeake. We are so thankful that she extended that gift of getting women and girls out on the water to us!

There can seemingly be little educational value in going fishing. Yet, it's an activity that requires us to understand the environment and what lives within it. How special it was for our girls to learn that directly from another woman who's out there figuring it out too.
